Improving your arches

Bonjour my little ballet dancers.

I thought I would post a blog on arches. Now before I say anything my arch isn't all that perfect but it has improved a lot in the past few months. Here is a picture of my arch:

As you can see its not the best it could be and my leg is straight it just doesn't look it as I was taking this at a funny angle. This is why every other night I do some exercises to improve the arch of my foot.

The first exercise is toe crunches:

I point my foot and then flex my toes. After I have done this I then go back into point and then into flexed toes. I do 100 of these on each foot to improve my arch.

Here is the second exercise:
I place my foot under a small area such as my chest of drawers. I point my toes and try to straighten my legs. I have a long way to go still but this does work and I do see improvements.

I hope this helps the bunch of you out there who need help with your arches for ballet and dance class.

Au revouir!

Mini Ballet Shoes

These babies are my old ballet shoes from when I was 5 years old. They are a bit ruined and dirty but I love them. I got them from 'Katz' a dance shop based in the UK. Here is their link to their website http://www.katz-dancewear.co.uk/

My mum had to sew on the pink elastics but I would recommend that you personally sew them yourselves unless you can't. They are satin ballet slippers however you can get the leathers.

Here is the base of the shoe. It is suede and also quite dirty. I think you could tell I loved ballet a lot. It may sound weird to you but these ballet shoes have made me join ballet in September.

I personally cannot wait to get my adult pair of ballet shoes and start afresh. It will be like turning over a new leaf.

bonjour my little ballet dancers

Hello my little ballet beginners!

I am going to be starting ballet again in September (hopefully) in grade four. I want to help people out there like me to start ballet again.

I will be posting things on this blog such as:
  • sewing elastics and ribbons onto shoes
  • make-up tutorials for performances
  • what I bring to ballet classes
  • performances I do
  • people I meet
  • tips and tricks
  • do's and don'ts of ballet
and much more!

So if this interests you then keep checking my BlogSpot for these types of posts.
Goodbye my little ballet dancers!
